I'm Yiran, I graduated from the Royal College of Art in Print, where my practice became deeply rooted in illustration and visual storytelling.
In my work, I construct surreal worlds that feel both familiar and strange—using unconventional narrative logic, irrational imagery, and whimsically absurd scenes. My characters often reveal a humorous and abrupt sense of drama beneath the quiet surface of everyday life, transforming ordinary moments into soft yet unexpected visual fables.
Building on this visual foundation, I've expanded my practice into handmade book experiments, weaving non-linear narratives into tangible book structures. I also explore the therapeutic dimension of creation through painting workshops, guiding others to find emotional resonance in visual expression. Whether working on paper or with mixed media, I strive to reshape the way we perceive the everyday through a soft yet rebellious visual language.
